Parking in Dubai Marina
RTA paid parking applies on most public roads in the Marina (Saturday–Thursday 8 AM – 10 PM; free on Fridays). Standard rate is 4 AED per hour, paid via SMS to 7275, the RTA Smart Parking app, or street machines. Most Marina towers have underground parking — usually paid for visitors, free for residents. Hotels offer valet parking (often complimentary for guests).
JBR Walk has multi-storey paid car parks with the same RTA rates. On weekends, arrive early or use one of the underground options to avoid hunting for a space.
Dubai Marina vs. Downtown vs. Deira — which area to base in?
Marina is best if you want beach, restaurants, and the JBR walk. Downtown Dubai works for Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall access. Deira is the older, more authentic side of Dubai — cheaper hotels and traditional souks. With a rental car, all three are 15–25 minutes apart, so the choice is mostly about atmosphere and budget.
